Hi everyone,
My name is Dr. Favour Amadasun, Pharm.D. I’m a pharmacist, a content writer with a background of copywriting and as you all know, a health blogger.
Today being the first anniversary of My Paediatric Doctor blog, I am very excited to share with you how it all began…
From when I was very young, I had love reading novels and writing poems till my passion grew to reading just about anything and writing too.
After graduating from the School of Pharmacy, University of Benin, Edo state, Nigeria in the year 2020, I started my internship training at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in September, the same year.
During my period of training, I worked at two departments among others that sparked my interest: Quality Control Unit and Paediatric Unit. Due to my love for children, I was particularly intrigued at the many diseases that affect children and this formed a starting point in my blogging career.
I came across parents/guardians that knew little or much about the disease affecting their child/ward or even the best way to provide comfort to an ailing child. Some diseases I came across were preventable and it pained my heart that a child had to go through all that because of lack of information.
As a health professional, I discovered that counseling a parent regarding a child is quite different from counseling an adult and treating a child generally is ‘delicate’ work. Because of this, I decided to create a blog centered around helping parents know about paediatric diseases and how best to help their children and also provide an easy-to-go platform where health professionals like myself can easily access information regarding paediatrics.
On September 15th, 2021, I did my first post on ‘Coughs and Colds in Children’ and there were about 28views and that was how my blogging journey started. For a year now, I have continued to post relevant contents about paediatric diseases but it hasn’t been all rosy.
To taking my time to choose relevant topics, to researching in-depth and working on the content to make it interesting yet informative and as well getting more persons to view the posts, it hasn’t been easy but I will still continue to provide useful and relevant information that is beneficial to you.
On this note, I wish to thank all my readers who has been with us right from day one; because without you, My Paediatric Doctor blog would not be a reality. Please continue to follow us as we go on this beautiful journey together.
